Role type: Remote (overlap with Australia time zone)

We’re looking for an experienced Full-Stack Engineer (PHP / React) to join a team maintaining and evolving a business-critical internal control system within a global trading company.

This is a long-term role within a large legacy codebase. The system is operationally critical and requires engineers who think beyond tickets and take ownership of outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve a large PHP-based internal control/admin system (SCA)
  • Refactor and modernize legacy components thoughtfully
  • Develop and maintain frontend features using React within a microfrontend architecture
  • Identify root causes of issues, not just patch symptoms
  • Propose technical solutions when requirements are incomplete
  • Collaborate closely with product and Australian engineering teams
  • Ensure code quality, maintainability, and long-term stability

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional PHP experience
  • Strong production experience with Symfony (Laravel acceptable)
  • Solid React experience (comfortable working full-stack)
  • Experience working with complex or legacy systems
  • Strong SQL skills (query optimization, indexing, performance tuning)
  • Ability to work independently across frontend and backend
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Timezone overlap with Australia is required
  • High level of responsiveness and proactiveness
