Senior Backend Developer
Vitex Software JSC is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join its growing team, supporting a client in the Banking & Finance domain based in the Netherlands. This is a full-time remote or hybrid role open to candidates based in Vietnam. As part of a flat and agile team, you will engage in backend development, design, code reviews, and problem-solving using modern practices and tools. Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend development using Java 8+, with in-depth knowledge of relational databases, microservices architecture, and modern development tools such as Git/GitLab and CI/CD pipelines. Additional experience in Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), workflow engines, and prior domain knowledge in finance or banking is highly advantageous. Strong communication skills in English and a collaborative team mindset are essential. A background in computer science or related engineering studies is required, and knowledge of language engineering is a plus.
The work schedule runs Monday through Friday, with multiple shift options and a 1.5-hour break. Work is conducted in an international environment with headquarters in the Netherlands, offering opportunities to work across global teams. This job is a full-time remote or hybrid backend engineer. You will be joining our backend team. As is common in startup culture, an entirely flat organisational structure exists. We take end-to-end responsibility for our products and execute iteratively towards our goal! Coding, code reviews, and tech design will be your daily activities. The team faces various and often unique technical challenges, which, according to our engineers' own words, are both stimulating and satisfying once resolved. What are we looking for?
- Have 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend software development
- Experience in modern JVM, Java 8+
- Experience in Relational Database
- Experience in Microservices Architecture
- Well-versed in Git/Gitlab and CD/CI concepts, tools and pipelines
- Experience in the development of mission-critical software systems
- Experience in designing and building performant systems
- Experience in the banking domain is a plus
- Abstract thinking skills and academic level in computer science or other engineering studies
- Experience in Workflow Engines, Kafka is a plus
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong team player and experienced working with teams on and across sites
- Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes in a production environment is a plus
- Exposure to Virtualization / Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP is a plus
- Experience in language engineering is a plus
