Senior PHP Developer
A leading Canadian tech company is seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join their global team on a full-time, remote contractor basis. While preference is given to candidates located in or near Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, applicants from elsewhere in the region will be considered. The role offers a monthly compensation of 40–48 million VND, with no insurance or SHUI coverage provided as it's a contractor position. As part of a distributed team, you’ll collaborate on the design and development of scalable, cloud-based web applications, working with modern tools and frameworks. The work schedule includes 4 daytime hours (flexible) and a fixed night shift from 8pm to 12am (Vietnam Time), Monday through Friday.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in backend development using PHP, ideally with a WordPress focus (Laravel experience is also welcome). Familiarity with technologies such as MySQL, HTML/CSS, REST APIs, XML/JSON, and OOP is essential. Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Apache/Nginx, and server configurations is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional frameworks like Node.js, React, and Django, as well as tools like Elasticsearch and Linux command line, will give candidates a competitive edge.
The interview process is fully remote and includes three stages: a technical interview, an assignment test, and a final interview with the CEO. ROLE OVERVIEW

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of professional work experience
Programming Languages: PHP (WordPress/Laravel), HTML/CSS
Experience with AWS and Kubernetes preferred
Server-Side Database MySQL, MongoDB etc.
Web Concepts: REST, JSON, XML, OOP, Dependency Injection, SOAP
Even better: Frameworks: experience with Node.js, React, Django is a plus
Good Knowledge of Linux commands is a plus
Familiar with Apache, Nginx, Server configuration etc. is a plus
Experience with Elasticsearch is a plus
Ability to solve problems quickly and independently
