You will own strategy and execution across technical SEO, content and on-page optimization, authority building, competitive intelligence, and disciplined experimentation. You will partner closely with leadership and our existing SEO team, bringing fresh thinking, new frameworks, and a strong point of view on what to do, what not to do, and why.</p><p>This role is for someone who has spent years in the trenches, has shipped wins, has learned from losses, and still gets excited to test a hypothesis and measure the outcome. You keep up with the craft daily, and you bring a high-integrity approach that protects the brand for the long term.</p><h3>What success looks like</h3><p>Within 90 days, you will:</p><ul><li> Build a clear SEO roadmap tied to business goals, opportunities, and risks. </li><li> Identify and prioritize the biggest technical and content constraints. </li><li> Launch a steady cadence of experiments with clean measurement. </li><li> Produce competitive insights that directly change what we build and publish. </li><li> Establish practical standards for ethical, sustainable growth. </li></ul><p>Within 6 to 12 months, you will:</p><ul><li> Grow qualified organic traffic and conversions through repeatable systems. </li><li> Increase the number of pages and topics where we rank and win for the right intent. </li><li> Strengthen authority signals through legitimate, brand-safe promotion. </li><li> Expand visibility in AI-driven discovery experiences with measurable impact. </li></ul><h3>Responsibilities</h3><p><strong>SEO strategy and ownership</strong></p><ul><li> Own the organic search roadmap across site architecture, technical health, content systems, internal linking, and authority. </li><li> Translate business priorities into keyword and topic portfolios that drive revenue, not vanity metrics. </li><li> Build scalable processes so SEO is embedded into product and content workflows. </li></ul><p><strong>Technical SEO</strong></p><ul><li> Audit and improve crawlability, indexation, rendering, canonicalization, pagination, faceted navigation, and site speed. </li><li> Partner with engineering to ship fixes and prevent regressions. </li><li> Implement and validate structured data where it improves comprehension and eligibility. </li></ul><p><strong>On-page and content performance</strong></p><ul><li> Create repeatable on-page standards for titles, headings, intent matching, entity coverage, and content quality. </li><li> Drive internal linking strategy that compounds over time. </li><li> Improve content refresh systems, pruning decisions, and consolidation when needed. </li></ul><p><strong>Off-site and authority, done the right way</strong></p><ul><li>Engage and manage vendors for legitimate tactics: digital PR, partnerships, thought leadership, editorial placements, link reclamation, and brand mentions.</li><li> Evaluate all promotion tactics through a brand safety and compliance lens. </li><li> Create clear guidelines for what is unacceptable and why, and protect the company from risky shortcuts. </li></ul><p><strong>Third-party platform and partner SEO</strong></p><ul><li> Identify opportunities on external platforms and ecosystems where it is appropriate to publish, partner, or distribute content. </li><li> Ensure all external publishing aligns with platform rules, user value, and company ethics. </li></ul><p><strong>Competitive research and opportunity discovery</strong></p><ul><li> Continuously monitor competitors to find gaps, patterns, and advantages. </li><li> Spot issues before they become traffic losses, and find opportunities before they become crowded. </li></ul><p><strong>Experimentation and measurement</strong></p><ul><li> Run a consistent test program: hypotheses, test design, success metrics, QA, post-mortems, and documentation. </li><li> Build reporting that ties SEO work to leads, revenue, or other core outcomes. </li><li> Teach the team through clear write-ups and repeatable playbooks. </li></ul><p><strong>AI search and next-gen optimization</strong></p><ul><li> Track how discovery is changing across AI answers and assistants. </li><li> Adapt content and technical strategy to improve machine understanding, attribution likelihood, and brand presence in AI-influenced journeys. </li><li> Test new formats and information architecture that improve retrieval and trust. </li></ul><h3>Reporting and collaboration</h3><ul><li>Reports to the CMO.</li><li>Works closely with: existing SEO team member(s), content, engineering, product, and brand </li></ul></div></section><section aria-labelledby="job-requirements-title" data-ui="job-requirements"><h2 id="job-requirements-title">Requirements</h2><div><h3>Required experience and skills</h3><ul><li> <strong>10+ years in SEO</strong> with a strong record of measurable wins across multiple sites or industries. </li><li> Experience in <strong>agency and independent consulting or freelancing</strong>, and now seeking to go deep with one company. </li><li> Strong grasp of technical SEO and ability to communicate clearly with developers. </li><li> Advanced capability in keyword research, intent modeling, content strategy, and internal linking systems. </li><li> High-level competency with modern tooling, including <strong>Ahrefs</strong> and comparable platforms (plus crawling, analytics, and log or performance tools). </li><li> Comfort designing experiments and making decisions based on evidence. </li><li> Excellent written communication: you can explain what matters, what does not, and what to
