We are hiring an AI Engineer to help shape and deliver AI-powered applications using large language models. You will work with rich global trade data and develop solutions that go beyond theory—real tools, real results. Candidates must have proven LLM experience. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building practical applications of generative AI. Candidates with only compliance or general data backgrounds will not be a good fit. Strong English reading and writing skills are required. Occasional early morning or evening meetings may be expected (leadership is based in Canada).</p> <h3>Job Overview</h3> <p>You will design and deploy LLM features, integrate AI assistants, and enhance large-scale data pipelines. This role spans prompt design, system integration, and model evaluation. You will be part of a growing AI team working with experienced product and engineering leads.</p> <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Design and develop LLM-based solutions from prototype to deployment</li> <li>Work with cross-functional teams to identify AI applications</li> <li>Integrate LLMs into data pipelines and backend services</li> <li>Build AI assistant integrations using APIs (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, OpenRouter)</li> <li>Develop and test prompt engineering strategies</li> <li>Monitor performance of AI systems in production</li> <li>Apply best practices for model versioning, testing, and deployment</li> <li>Document systems and maintain clear technical documentation</li> <li>Stay up to date with developments in LLMs and applied AI</li> </ul> <h3>Requirements</h3> <h4>Must-Have:</h4> <ul> <li>At least 5 years of experience developing AI/ML or LLM-powered applications</li> <li>Strong programming skills in Python</li> <li>Experience with APIs for LLMs and prompt engineering</li> <li>Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design</li> <li>Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps tools</li> <li>Excellent English communication skills</li> <li>Able to provide an English audio recording as part of the application</li> <li>Stable work history (2–3+ years at each company)</li> </ul> <h4>Nice-to-Have:</h4> <ul> <li>Experience implementing AI assistant tools</li> <li>Familiarity with evaluating LLM model outputs in production</li> </ul> </div> <div> <h3>Company Overview</h3> <p>We are a U.S.-based data technology company working with international trade intelligence.
